Journeyman Upgrade Class Form

The Joint Apprenticeship Training committee will be conducting classes for all members of Local Union #94.  These classes will be held on Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday or Thursday evening from 5:00 until 8:30 pm.

Training in all types of welding, Stick, Downhill, Tig, Mig



Certification and Recertification on backflow prevention devices.
Length of class for certification – 10 weeks; recertification – 3 weeks. (ALL classes must be attended to take the certification test.)
Cost of the certification class is $175.00. Cost of the 3-year recertification is $75.00.





OSHA 10 hour.
Length of class – 3 weeks (This is now MANDATORY to work at the Timken Co.). Note: steel toe work boots have been made mandatory also at the Timken Co.



OSHA 30 hour.
Length of class – 10 weeks (This is now MANDATORY to work in Local #120 jurisdiction.)



Medical Gas Certification.
This class is being offered to Journeymen so they may obtain a Certified Medical Gas Installers card. Law in Ohio requires anybody performing Med Gas work to have this Cert. Length of class – 32 hours. A $108.00 fee is required to attend this class. Make your check out to Local #94 JATC. A $30.00 semi-annual recertification fee is required to maintain your certification.



Plumbing Code
This class will help prepare individuals to take the Canton Journeyman test.


Crane Signal Person Accreditation
An intensive crane signaling and proper techniques class used when dealing with cranes. A NCCCO accreditation will be given by members successful in passing this class.



Industrial Rigging Certification
A combination of hands-on and theoretical rigging procedures now being implemented in the industry. An EPRI certification will be issued to members successfully passing this class.



Arc Flash Safety Training
Primarily geared for HVAC members or any member that routinely works in or around “hot” electrical devices. This class teaches safe working practices as defined by the NFPA code. Certification cards will be issued to members that pass the class.



ICRA Best Practices in Healthcare Training and Awareness
Certain medical facilities and hospitals in and around our area now require this certification to be able to work there. Badges will be issued to all who pass this class.



Tube Bending
This class will cover all the aspects of tube bending with hand benders.
