The members and Union of United Association Plumbers and Pipefitters Local 94 are part of several organizations. These organizations encompass our union affiliates and overarching partners in the building and construction industry, as well as programs and efforts that encourage pro-labor, political and training support.

United Association

The United Association of Journeymen and Apprentices of the Plumbing and Pipefitting Industry of the United States and Canada (UA) represents approximately 355,000 Plumbers, Pipefitters, Sprinkler Fitters, HVACR Service Technicians, Welders and Pipeliners working in the construction industry throughout North America.

United Association Department of Political and Legislative Affairs

The Department of Political & Legislative Affairs handles all political, legislative, and governmental affairs matters for the UA. Representing over 340,000 members and their families, the UA advocates for pro-labor policies and works to elect pro-labor candidates to political office.

United Association Veterans in Piping

To ease the transition back into civilian life, the United Association established the UA Veterans in Piping (VIP) Program to equip military service members preparing to leave the service with sought after skills that can lead to lifelong careers in the increasingly in-demand pipe trades. Through 18-week accelerated courses – provided free of cost on military bases across the country – VIP participants earn industry-recognized certifications and a direct entry into solid private-sector jobs with good pay and benefits with UA Local Unions, including Plumbers and Pipefitters Local 94.

The American Federation of Labor and Congress of Industrial Organizations (AFL-CIO) works tirelessly to improve the lives of working people. They are the democratic, voluntary federation of 57 national and international labor unions that represent 12.5 million working men and women. The AFL-CIO strives to ensure all working people are treated fairly, with decent paychecks and benefits, safe jobs, dignity, and equal opportunities. They help people acquire valuable skills and job-readiness for the 21st century economy. In fact, they operate the largest training network outside the U.S. military.

North America’s Building Trades Unions

North America’s Building Trades Unions is a labor organization representing more than 3 million skilled craft professionals in the United States and Canada. NABTU is composed of fourteen national and international unions and over 330 provincial, state and local building and construction trades councils.

NABTU’s purpose is to create more work opportunities, achieve family-sustaining wages and protect labor, training, safety, retirement and benefit standards, not just for the members of our 14 national and international union affiliates, but for all construction workers.

Ohio State Building and Construction Trades Council

The individual member affiliates of the Ohio State Building & Construction Trades Council are composed of thousands of highly-trained and experienced workers whose track record of producing exceptional quality work resonates throughout the state of Ohio. It is the mission of the Ohio State BCTC to provide members with the necessary education and training to better skills and maintain productive and safe working environments. The Ohio State BCTC provides leadership through direction and cooperation from 14 regional councils.

East Central Ohio Building and Construction Trades Council

The East Central Ohio region encompasses the six counties of Carroll, Coshocton, Holmes, Stark, Tuscarawas and Wayne, where we are fortunate to have efficient and experienced contractors and subcontractors, as well as an extensively trained and highly-skilled construction workforce. Multiple key trade unions, encompassing every facet of the construction industry, have principal offices in East Central Ohio. These labor organizations sponsor and operate apprenticeship training programs endorsed by the U.S. Department of Labor, ensuring the ongoing availability of highly skilled construction workers. In recent years, developers in the natural gas industries have relied on local contractors and subcontractors to remain cost-efficient while meeting their construction needs and requirements.
